There are over 7 billion people on planet Earth, and it seems the diversity of their lives is often best conveyed through photography. If you haven’t already seen 16 Children & Their Bedrooms by photographer James Mollison, that’s another set of photos that vividly describes the contrast in living situation for many of the world’s people.
But photographers Peter Menzel and Faith D’Aluiso set out to capture something different during their travels.
The married couple sojourned around the world and met many people from all walks of life. During this time, they asked them to pose for photographs with their daily diets in front of them.
What may be most shocking is the dramatic difference of calories between the people of different backgrounds.
