7. In 1991, Trump Was Billions of Dollars in Debt

In 1991, Donald Trump owed billions to several different banks and had to divide up his wealth and assets in order to pay his debts. American Express took his yacht, Citigroup took an airline and several retail businesses, and Bankers Trust got control of the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan. None of the banks were happy to get the property and assets in the middle of the recession, but it was the only way to reclaim some of their money, even if they wouldn’t be able to make money from the properties for several years.

8. Trump Believes His Net Worth Changes With His Emotions

Trump has repeatedly sued people for libel for what he believed were lies about his net worth, which is ridiculous considering it often changes and he has even been in debt several times. He went on the stand during one lawsuit and admitted that his net worth is constantly fluctuating and is based on a number of factors, including how he “feels that day.” He also argued that the worth of his brand should be included in his net worth and that his current worth is over $7 billion.

9. Trump Says He Hasn’t Changed Since the First Grade

In one interview, Trump admitted that he sees himself as exactly the same as he was in the first grade. He believes that his temperament or personality has not changed at all. This is somewhat alarming, considering that in the first grade, he was known to throw erasers at his teachers and throw birthday cakes at parties. He gave one teacher a black eye for suggesting Donald didn’t know anything about music. Perhaps Trump is right though, since he appears to have a short temper and has at least incited violence amongst his followers.
