The Babushka Lady

The Babushka Lady was a reference to an unidentified woman who was present at the time of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. She was nicknamed as such for the headscarf she wore during the incident. The lady was seen holding a camera capturing images while the incident unfolded. Even as people were scrambling for cover, she continued to stand with her camera on her face. She was never identified.

The S. S. Watertown ghosts

December 1924, two crew members of the S.S. Watertown James Courtney and Michael Meehan were killed by the gas fumes while cleaning the cargo tank of the ship. They were buried at sea. To everyone’s horror, the faces of the two soldiers appeared in the water the next day. They were so distinct that the captain ordered to take pictures of the apparition. Experts examined the photographs and the negatives, but there were no signs of them being tampered with.
