FedEx To The Rescue

Carroll had brought up the idea of requesting for passage from the international cargo company FedEx. He had heard that the Memphis-based company had flown emergency patients before. Call it kismet, but they were able to contact someone from the shipping company. Upon hearing about little Brooklyn’s story, they agreed to fly her and her parents on one of their planes the next day. But that would be too late, they needed to get there the same night. Nick explained, “When they heard that we needed to get there sooner, they said, ‘Well if they can get to the airport in the next 30 minutes, we can have someone take them then.’”

Shipping The Faris’ To Chicago

With just a few hours to spare, Brooklyn and her parents made their way to the Memphis International Airport where the FedEx Express hub was located. They left at 8 p.m. and although a little bumpy, they arrived safely in Chicago one hour later. Jesse even said, “I do remember looking at Nick, and we were just shaking our heads because it was just completely surreal the entire afternoon and evening events.”
