With the holidays right around the corner, it’s fun to look back and reminisce about celebrities with the biggest hearts who love to give to those in need. And, for one such actor, aside from smelling “what the Rock is cooking,” it’s eye-opening to know that his reputation as the most likeable celebrity isn’t just because of his time with the World Wrestling Federation, now known as WWE.

In his current career, Dwayne Johnson is known for his action films, being funny, and admirably, for putting up a foundation that works with at-risk and terminally ill children. It would seem that there’s nothing that The Rock can’t or doesn’t do.

Back in January, the 48-year old actor decided to visit his old pal Bruno Lauer and give him the surprise of a lifetime. While Bruno believed that he was just meeting up with an old friend, Johnson had other plans, plans that would bring Bruno to tears.

As soon as Johnson sees Bruno across the parking lot, he shouts “Hey you son of a gun!” proving that their friendship has spanned both time and space, as well as thrives on comfortability, with the very obvious moniker. But it didn’t actually explain just how special their relationship actually was and continues to be.

In a heartwarming Instagram post placed on Johnson’s page, he shared with the camera that when he was a young teenage boy, he and his mom had been booted out of Hawaii and forced to move to Nashville, with Johnson believing that he would be going to live with his father. But when he arrived, those plans didn’t push through, and Johnson was forced to move in with a guy named Bruno who happened to be living in a tiny apartment building in a place called Alamo Plaza hotel.

Eventually the two became fast friends, while Johnson was attempting to make a career for himself in the wrestling world. 9 years later, Johnson found himself homeless once more, and again, Bruno came to his rescue, allowing him to move in with him once again, but this time in his Nashville trailer. Bruno even bought him a car from a crackhead using his last $40, but it didn’t matter because Bruno was always willing to help Johnson out.

Thankfully for Johnson, he managed to make an incredible career for himself, and in his generosity and love, he chose to do something amazing for his friend that never turned him down, forever opening up both his home and his heart to the professional wrestler.

Johnson surprised Bruno with a brand new Ford 150 pickup truck, leaving Bruno speechless, teary-eyed, thankful, and just in awe of his friend. Johnson, who shared a 5-minute video of the events that took place on his IG page wrote, “I love you, brother. Your kindness and heart – helped change my life’s trajectory. And when you’re ready to retire from ‘the business’ you just say the world. I got you covered.”

If this story proves anything it’s that angels come in all shapes, forms and sizes. Just look at Johnson and Bruno, who happened to be both friend and angel to one another. This is the kind of goodness the world needs right about now.
