Bettie Jo Elmore
Bettie Jo, who was from Houston, was only 24 when she weighed in at almost 660 pounds. And while she was married to a much slimmer man, her husband Josh, apparently, was part of the reason that she was so big. Josh was insecure, fearing that Bettie Jo would leave him if she ever lost weight. But both Josh and Bettie Jo knew that if she didn’t do anything about her unhealthy lifestyle, she would no longer be alive to enjoy the rest of their married life together. Josh also knew his enabling ways were not helping her, considering that he was basically her ‘caregiver’ at that point.
