What Exactly Happened?

Apparently, the four-wheeled quad had rolled 270 degrees once he had run off the trail, which then fell on the driver, crushing him under the vehicle. He wasn’t sure exactly how he was going to get out from under the heavy quad, which is why the driver knew he needed to do something quickly if he was going to get the help he needed. So that’s how his helmet had ended up on the trail in the first place.

Smart Move

When OnTo1Wheel asked the trapped driver about the incident, he shared that he knew he needed to do something in order to make sure that he would get found. He also knew it would be tricky to find him, considering that trails have people racing through them as fast as possible. OnTo1Wheel explains, “Not sure if it was out of frustration, or trying to get attention, but it is what I saw first [meaning the helmet]. I’m not sure would have seen him otherwise.”
