Boy’s School Project Led Him To Discover A Piece Of World History Buried In Their Family’s Farm

First time in 40 years

Armed with a metal detector, father and son set out on the family farm located in Birkelse in Northern Denmark, hopeful that they would stumble upon something at least from the great war. It was the first time in his 40 years of living on the property to go out looking for something as significant as a piece from that historic event.

The first clue

Before long, the detector picked up something. Klaus and Daniel quickly began digging where the metal detector beeped. A few minutes into their digging with a handheld shovel, all they found were dirt and plant roots. But because they were determined, they used a backhoe to dig even deeper.
