He was uncovered when the real Terry Symansky’s nephew did some online sleuthing to find out why his dead uncle was listed as getting remarried and why he’s getting a pilot’s license. He then alerted the authorities, and the truth was uncovered. In July 2016, Richard was arrested and sent to the Pasco County in jail.

A string of charges

While Richard was accountable for all his past actions, he couldn’t be charged for the theft he committed in Indiana 23 years ago. Indiana state maintains a statute of limitations of five years for theft. But while he may not be held accountable for it, he was nevertheless charged for stealing someone else’s identity.
