Meg Ryan was America’s sweetheart in the 80s, playing roles that made her incredibly quirky and cute. But it was her character as Betsy Stewart on soap opera As the World Turns that helped catch the eye of other TV and movie producers. She would go on to star in an impressive number of movies since then, but has managed to stay much more under the radar these days, preferring to be much more choosy about the roles she agrees to do.
