Sunny was able to get a scholarship to the University of La Verne, while Jeena, remained working at her job, trying to make the money she needed to go to college. She ended up getting derailed from her schooling plans and instead, joined the American Air Force after she finally gained her U.S. citizenship.

This is when the girls began to slowly grow apart. While Sunny was busy in college, Jeena was making her way through Air Force training. During these times, it was said that they two hardly got a chance to speak, what more see each other. Things began to slowly unravel between the two.
