Police Were Irked
The police were soon becoming the laughing stock of their community. They were becoming famous for thwarted arrests and laughable ploys to catch Attila, none of which were ever fruitful at the time. One particular writer in Hungary had even reported, “He [Attila] didn’t rob banks. He merely performed a peculiar redistribution of the wealth that differed from the elites only in its method.” Some people even claimed that maybe he was giving some of it to the poor. He was becoming nothing short of a legend, but the police were getting more and more frustrated by the minute.
