Attorney General Josh Shapiro said that there were definitely no new developments in the case. When they arrested Carl, there were neither bombshells nor recent developments. They simply reopened old files and looked deeper. It was obvious to them that he had been the number one suspect at that time.

The Grand Jury

As the trial began, the grand jury took a look at the evidence gathered during the 1983 investigation. And while there were no new details, the investigators and Shapiro took a closer look at the information and materials gathered. They inspected the findings using fresh eyes and they simply collaborated with the experts who had access to modern technology, something that wasn’t available then.
