The Las Vegas shooter, Stephen Paddock, ended up killing 59 individuals, while injuring 527 more, before he ended taking his own life. Yet, in spite of this major catastrophe, what rose out of the pain and the hardship was a number of selfless heroes that saved either their spouses, family members, loved ones, or like Brendan, a brand new friend made along the way. Others even went on to save complete strangers, people that they had never even met once in their lives. And in the end, this is the America that people know and want to be hopeful for, it’s the America that people can be proud of.
