Tragedy in the family

However, tragedy struck Rebecca’s family. While away at sea, her grandfather passed away. She had to fly home to England for his funeral. Little did anyone in her family know that it was the last time they were going to see Rebecca.

While at sea, Rebecca made sure to always keep in touch with her parents – Mike and Annamaria Coriam – back home using the internet. She talked to her mom through Facebook messenger six weeks after her return onboard the Wonder to resume work. Although she said during their conversation that she was going to call them the next day , it was actually the last time her parents heard from her.
