Giant Worms In The Sky
What you see in the image above are morning glory clouds. Although they are a very rare type of cloud, the morning glory cloud seen over Burketown, Queensland in Australia is a regular occurrence every spring. These clouds can stretch over 1,000 kilometers long and hang at about 2 kilometers in the atmosphere. They might be a sight to behold, but they can cause dangerous turbulence for passing aircraft.
