Photos were taken recently in one of the hospital’s emergency room in Istanbul, Turkey that immediately went viral on social media. Merve Özcan shared photos on Twitter of a mother cat bringing in her sick kitten to the emergency room in a human hospital. The paramedics surrounded the poor mother and child petting them.
Lucky for these kittens, the Turkish people love and respect any stray animals that come their way and provided these two with all the help they needed. The kitten is now fine and yes, no CAT scans were required to be done.
The photos were shared by thousands of people on Turkish social media and get over 82k likes on Reddit because of the heartwarming story behind it. The photos shared on Twitter were of the baby kitten being carried by its mother to the emergency room of the hospital. It was captioned by Merve Özcan:
“Today we were in the emergency room of the hospital when a cat rushed to bring her offspring in her mouth.”
The Turkish media reported saying that the hospital staff immediately paid them attention and checked the kitten for any health issues. The mother cat was obviously worried, following her kitten around without letting it out of her sight.
Media also wrote that while the kitten was being cared for, the medics made sure to also give the mother some milk and food to make her more comfortable and relaxed.
Turkish people have always been known to love and care for stray animals, oftentimes leaving food and water out on the streets for them. Luckily, both mom and kitten are fine, but were sent to the vet just to make sure they were both in excellent health.
People on Reddit all commented about their praise of local paramedics and emergency room staff at the hospital for their actions. Some also reminisced of their own stories and experiences of other people helping animals in need.
One Reddit user shared that, “this happened in my hometown with a birthing cat. She had problems and walked up to the hospital and started to meow. They helped her and she is now the pet of the doctor who called the vet.”
