NASA Just Released A Timelapse Video Of The Sun, And It’s Mindblowing

Just a few weeks after NASA released the biggest photograph of the Andromena galaxy ever taken, the space agency has outdone itself with these new time-lapse images of our sun. The video was made to commemorate five years in space for NASA‘s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), which captures images of the fiery ball twenty-four hours a day. SDO was launched on Feb 11, 2010 and allows scientists to understand how massive explosions grow and erupt.

The video is spectacularly beautiful, capturing extremely clear high-quality footage of solar clouds and flares, sunspots and eruptions in one of the most awe-inspiring videos you’ll probably ever see.
