Jaimie would choose his first steps into transitioning by making an appointment at a salon. He had grown up wearing frilly, girly dresses and sporting long, luscious blonde locks, but that was no longer the same person he saw himself as. He shared, “So I called a nearby salon and made the earliest appointment I could. I cut my long-flowing locks. I didn’t tell anyone I was doing it.
