Jaimie also reminisced by explaining how sad it was for him that his family couldn’t love him enough to accept his true identity. “I think everyone finds who they really are at a different part in their life. If I had a family that was more accepting, I would have come out earlier, had my hair shorter earlier and had been more comfortable being myself. But I didn’t have that, so I was feminine.”

Aside from his music, Jaimie hopes to encourage others in the same position that he’s had to endure. He explained, “My motive for being a trans activist is spreading awareness. I am in a position to be able to help others and be visible, so I do what I can. I had no support from family and friends so I know how helpful it can be to have someone give out binders, donate to their GoFundMe campaigns, speak for them when they don’t have the voice. It’s very important to me.” And after everything that he has had to endure in his young life, Jaimie, at just 21-years of age, has become a true inspiration for many by simply choosing to bravely be the person he was always meant to be.
