People Watch Virtual Reality Porn For The First Time… And It Gets Weird [Video]

The world is definitely changing.

Did you know? By 2025, adult content is predicted to be a $1 billion business as well as the third-biggest virtual-reality sector. Sales are forecasted to follow video games and NFL-related content. To keep up with the ever-changing world, entrepreneurs in the industry are now experimenting with virtual reality (VR) porn.

In the video below, people are introduced to VR porn for the first time. The intention of filming the somewhat controversial introduction, according to MarketWatch, is to reveal the up-and-coming trend which is only likely to become more popular. As one user says, “my elders thought that internet porn was, like, crazy.  So, like,  this is like… probably, I’m, like, getting old, like ‘this shit is crazy,’ you know?”  He concluded, “but it’s… fucking crazy.”

According to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, virtual reality technology “could revolutionize an industry that has been stagnant for many years.” By making porn into virtual reality fantasies, businesses and individuals hope to get more people to pay for the concept since sales of adult videos have been slowing down.

Controversial? Yes, but that won’t stop tech giants from racing “to put this technology in your living room,” says Jeremy Bailenson, founding director of Stanford University’s virtual-reality testing center, Virtual Human Interaction Lab. Porn industries seek to increase revenues dramatically if virtual-reality adult content catches on and stays behind a paywall due to high barriers of entry.

VR porn makes production more difficult but is designed to ensure a user has a more “powerful and immersive” experience. In essence, it tricks people into believing they are one with the simulated world, which is scary, bizarre and intriguing all at the same time. The development of this technology has prompted some to question whether or not we are already living in the matrix, or if mankind is in the process of immersing itself in one.

What’s clear is that technology is changing the world. But will it always be for the better? Please comment below and share this news!
