Promised Land
Considering just how huge the house was, the designers new that they would seriously have to dig in their heels and make a lot of changes, but obviously Oprah had the type of bank account that could afford any type of renovation. Oprah loved how the house ‘reminded her of Gone With The Wind,’ even naming it Tara II at first. But her friend, Bob Greene, was able to change her mind and decided on the name ‘Promised Land,’ which in many ways felt like “freedom” to her.
