Pitbull Found A Home And Sworn In As A “Paw-trol Officer”

In just a single day spent with the officers at the Hopkinsville Police Department, a charismatic pit bull named Bolo managed to captivate their hearts completely. This endearing canine has now taken on the unique role of the department’s inaugural “Paw-trol Officer” and has happily secured a permanent place to call home.

Originally brought to the Hopkinsville station in Kentucky as part of a publicity initiative orchestrated by the Christian County Animal Shelter, Bolo’s initial purpose was merely to spend a day contributing his photogenic charm to the department’s social media posts. The intention was to boost his visibility and increase the likelihood of finding him a loving and caring forever home.

However, the unforeseen magic that unfolded during that short visit led to an extraordinary outcome for Bolo and the police officers alike. The strong connection formed between Bolo and the officers not only garnered attention on social media but also resulted in a heartwarming decision to make Bolo a permanent member of the police force and the loving recipient of a fur-ever home.

“Oddly enough, everybody fell in love with him,” Police Chief Jason Newby had shared.

“So when it came time for him to go back that day, they got him in his cage, and he kind of dropped his head and whimpered, and everybody’s heart melted, and we decided to adopt him.”

Not only did they choose to bring him into their family, but they also committed to fully embracing him as one of their own by officially enlisting him in the blue and black, symbolizing a profound and enduring connection.

“[O]n Tuesday, during the Hopkinsville City Council meeting, Bolo was officially made a part of the team and sworn in by Mayor J.R. Knight as HPD’s very first Paw-trol Officer! We can’t wait to follow this sweet pup’s career on the force,” the Department wrote on Facebook.

During the ceremony, the mayor uttered the customary pledge to uphold the well-being of the residents of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, while embodying the role of the Paw-trol dog.

“You can bark if you want to,” concluded Mr. Knight.

In place of barking, Bolo dedicated himself to a promising future, leaving behind an inky paw print and a photograph as a sign that he truly had become a special member of the police force, one that everyone loves.
