It would seem though, that even after all the events that had happened, Beth still couldn’t get over Natalee’s disappearance nor the fact that her killer was never brought to justice. She decided to request if she could speak to van der Sloot herself, and when she was given permission, she hopped on a plane and flew straight to Peru to meet him in jail. It was reported that after that meeting, Beth felt she could finally put the past to rest, and move on with her life.

Plus the fact that there were so many different twists and turns in the story, and also because van der Sloot was found guilty and charged for the murder of someone else, kept people wondering about what would happen next.
