Partying Like There’s No Tomorrow

Admittedly, one of the chaperones, Bob Plummer, had said, “The chaperones were not supposed to keep up with their [the students] every move.” And following 124 kids partying around Aruba was no easy feat. In fact, it was even said that the kids were drinking, partying and switching rooms, practically every single night. The hotel that they stayed in while on the island, the Holiday Inn, had even stated that they were unwilling to take the kids back the year after because they were so rowdy.

Too Much Drinking

When questioned, classmates of Natalee had shared that she was drinking extravagantly the entire trip. As soon as she was up in the morning, she would begin with a cocktail, and basically be tossing back drink after drink, the whole day, so much so that two friends of hers, Liz Cain and Claire Fierman, had even said, ‘Agreed that the drinking was kind of excessive.’ And the chaperones, who were there to make sure that the kids were all safe, had said Natalie didn’t show up for breakfast on two separate occasions. Unfortunately, on one of those mornings, no one could know that Natalee not showing up meant that they would never see Natalee ever again.
