Coming Back To The 3 Boys

On June 9, 2005, less than 2 weeks from the time Natalee went missing, van der Sloot and the two Kalpoes, were brought back into custody by the police. But then on the 17th of June, another suspect came into play who happened to be a local DJ on the island. His name was Steve Gregory Croes and all the 3 boys claimed that he had something to do with it. But it became quite clear, quite fast, that he had nothing to do with Natalee’s disappearance either. So the police let him go, and were right back to where they started.

Changing Their Stories

Police were getting nowhere fast. So they decided to take the 3 boys on what they called a “narrative ride” so they could explain exactly what happened that night. This is when things took quite a shift. The Kalpoe brothers said that it wasn’t only Natalee who they dropped off at the Marriot Hotel beach, but that van der Sloot had stayed with her as well. Finally, it seemed like the authorities were finally going to get some answers, and actual answers that they wanted.
