Admitting To Staying Behind

It would seem that when van der Sloot’s friends told authorities that he stayed with Natalee, van der Sloot would admit to it too. But he added that he didn’t remain with her there, and that he had proceeded to walk home. And just when Natalee’s family thought that they would finally have something new to move on, the case came to almost a complete stop. There was no new evidence, no new witnesses, no new leads into where she could be. Plus authorities had no reason to keep any of the suspects, including van der Sloot, in jail, so they unfortunately had to let them all go.
Getting Arrested Again

For some reason, van der Sloot just kept getting brought back into custody despite the lack of physical evidence in Natalie’s disappearance. He had gone on a trip back home to the Netherlands, but he was arrested once again, while in his home country, and brought back to Aruba to face trial. His charges? ‘Manslaughter and causing serious bodily harm that resulted in the death of Holloway.’ But once again, he was let go due to the lack of any true documentation that he had something to do with it. It was clearly very frustrating for everyone involved, especially for Natalee’s family.
