Keeping Watch
Karen kept close watch on her daughter until she was too exhausted to keep her eyes open. Then at around 4:30 in the morning, she sat up. Something had woken her up and she didn’t know what it was. Was it the bathroom light or the noise the fan made? Whatever it was, she decided to check on her girl and had immediately realized that something was wrong.
