Iqbal’s Sentencing
Osman Iqbal was fired from the West Midlands Police in July of 2014. And on September 19, he was given seven years and two months for masterminding the entire illegal operations, alongside his cousin, Talib. He was charged with ‘conspiracy to manage a brothel, conspiracy to possess Class A drugs with intent to supply and conspiracy to money launder.’
An Officer Disgraced
When Iqbal received his sentencing by Judge Bertodano, she had said that Iqbal “had previously been seen as a pillar of Kings Heath, Birmingham community.” She continued by addressing him, “You are not only a man of previous good character, you were a police officer who played a significant role in the community and your record as an officer was an extremely good one.” Sadly for Iqbal, this is no longer the case. He is now a disgraced former police officer serving time in jail for some of the same deeds that he caught other criminals for.
