Hindenburg Disaster, 1937: Even though there were 22 photographers present at 7 P.M. on May 6, 1937, to firm the Hindenburg’s arrival, not one was able to catch the actual spark that led to the explosion.

The Original prototype of Mount Rushmore, 1923. Thomas Jefferson’s face on Mount Rushmore was actually started on the opposite side of George Washington – 18 months into the carving. Then they realized the granite was too weak and so his face was dynamited off and carved on the other side.
