Rachel Meghan Markle was born and raised in L.A. to her African American mother, Doria Ragland, and her Caucasian father, Thomas Markle. Although her folks divorced when she was just 6 years old, with her father being in the TV business, she caught the acting bug early on. She Went To An All-Girls Catholic School

Megan’s father was an Emmy award-winning lightning director, Thomas Markle who would bring Meghan with him to work when she wasn’t attending class at the Immaculate Heart High School, which also happened to be a Catholic all-girls private school. But given this photograph, she must have gone a just a wee bit naughty after graduation, or at least the Queen would like to think that.

She Went To Northwestern

Meghan ended up at Northwestern University for college, and because she didn’t want to be cliché, in her words “a girl from L.A. who decides to be an actress,” she decided to go for a double major in theater and international relations. Thrust In The Spotlight

She Thought She Would End Up In Politics

Before her career took off though, Meghan did think that she would somehow end up in politics due to her International Relations course. She even interned for the U.S. Embassy in Argentina saying, “I thought for sure I would still have a career in politics.” But while she ended up becoming famous for her acting, little did she know, she would also be thrust into the middle of politics as well, but not in the way she believed she would.

She Was On ‘Deal Or No Deal’

Despite her fear of becoming ‘commonplace’ like many other homemade L.A. actresses, Meghan’s career started out just like the others, slowly. She even joined the game show ‘Deal or No Deal’ for awhile. While on the show, she would have to stand in cheap 5-inch heels on a stage while waiting for her number to be called, and apparently pose for sexy photos in short, revealing red dresses that don’t leave much to the imagination.
