Living The High Life

Although they had remained friends, their lives never truly crossed paths again, in spite of her keeping Alex’s last name. And meanwhile, in New York, Anna was busy making a new life for herself and increasing her business in the Big Apple. And along with big business and rich boyfriends, also came her enjoyment of the ‘high life.’ She was soon shopping on 5th Avenue, wearing all designer clothes and rubbing elbows with America’s elite. That was, at least, until the FBI began to investigate her and here interests in America.

Was She A Spy?

Although it doesn’t exactly say why, the FBI came to believe that Anna had penetrated the United States by joining ‘a spy ring and [to] infiltrate political circles.’ Supposedly, she had been found to be ‘communicating with the Russian intelligence service, the SVR, using a computer attached to a wireless network at a Starbucks coffee shop in January, and two months later from a bookshop.’ The U.S. felt they had a reason to move on her arrest, not wanting to take a chance given her shady background.
