Privacy issues are not unique to Samsung. Other tech and media companies, such as Facebook, have come under fire for unauthorized surveillance and data mining.

In their Privacy Policy, a clause, which the company has removed, it was stated “We may share your information with third parties, including responsible companies with which we have a relationship,” which implied that they may sell relevant information to advertisers. The issue was addressed by company spokesman Chris Hughes. In his statement, he said “Simply put, we have never provided our users’ information to third party companies, nor do we intend to.”
