Depending on ‘chemosynthesis’ rather than ‘photosynthesis,’ this secret underground cosmos became home to an epic amount of creatures that the world had never seen before.

A Different Kind Of System

Pretty much everyone knows how photosynthesis works since this is how humans survive on earth. But the creatures found in the Movile cave lived via chemosynthesis. Whereas photosynthesis happens by using the sun to create oxygen to allow plants to grow, chemosynthesis harnesses energy found in inorganic chemicals in order to create food. And although it may sound simple in these terms, the major reality is way beyond what most people cover in their regular science classes. And to prove this point, the Movile Cave is proof of this exactly.
