Finding Brooke’s Body

Finally, on September 21, 2009, Brooke Wilberger’s body was recovered near the Oregon coast after her killer told police where he left her. Courtney had agreed to tell authorities in order to avoid receiving the death penalty for her death. Courtney pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, aside from all his other crimes. Brooke’s family can now rest on the fact that he will never be released from jail.

Bringing Brooke Home

Brooke’s family knew deep down, despite having not found her body before, that she was most probably dead. Even though they held a small glimmer of hope, after years had gone by with no other breakthroughs in her case, there was a peace at finally being able to bring her home. At least, this way, they could give her a proper burial and say their final goodbyes.
