Heading Home For Summer

At the end of freshman year, Brooke bid her friends goodbye and went home to Oregon. Her older sister asked Brooke to help her and her husband maintain their rental apartments. Her sister lived in the town of Corvallis in Oregon, around 37 miles away from Veneta, where the girls grew up. Corvallis was considered a lovely, charming town with around 50,000 residents, and this was where the sister’s apartments were.

Where Did Brooke Go?

On the morning of May 24, 2004, Brooke’s sister dropped her off at the Oak Park Apartments building office to start the day. Gathering her cleaning supplies, she went outside to begin cleaning the lampposts outside the apartment complex. When her sister returned from dropping her kids off at school just a few minutes later, it would seem that Brooke was nowhere to be found. It took a few moments for her sister to even realize she was missing.
