Apple’s new iPad Air is the best tablet for most people right now if you’re in the market for an iPad. Apple has adapted the design of the iPad Pro to a more affordable price point. This year’s iPad Air costs $100 more than last year’s model, but it features a larger, better display and a faster (and much more intriguing) processor in return.
Design
With its similarity to Apple’s 11-inch iPad Pro, you might think the iPad Air 4 is the new high-end model from Apple. It comes in green, blue, rose gold, silver, and space gray. Apple was able to improve the screen size of the iPad Air 4 by stripping away the home button from the display, which is why the tablet’s 10.9-inch display is larger than its predecessors’ 10.5-inch panel.

Display
The Liquid Retina LED display on the iPad Air has a 2360 x 1640 pixels resolution and supports True Tone. It has a nice screen, but it’s not the most colorful, and it doesn’t have the iPad Pro’s smooth 120Hz refresh rate. But it still gets the job done for most people.
New Apple Pencil for the iPad Air
Drawing on a digital canvas with the 2nd gen Apple Pencil is an excellent option for artists. The Pencil is identical in size and shape to a standard pencil, and its flat side makes it simple to grip.
Authentication via Touch ID
The iPad Air 4 tends to feel like a consolidation of the iPad and iPad Pro in terms of the Touch ID power button. I’m baffled as to why Apple chose not to use the iPad Pro’s Face Recognition selfie camera on the Air, given that the Air already has the narrow bezels that the iPad Pro requires.

Processor
Because of its Hexa-core CPU and quad-core GPU, the A14 Bionic chip in the iPad Air 4 outperforms most other tablets in terms of capability. As long as all you care about is the iPad Air’s speed and ability to perform a wide range of tasks, it can meet your needs.
Audio
In landscape mode, the speakers on each end of the iPad Air give you stereo sound with excellent control over the movie sound in particular. Depending on what’s going on in the video or game, the sound either moves around the screen or blasts right out of your ears. Although the overall sound balance is good, it lacks bass, only the precision is exceptional, allowing you to hear what’s going on. It’s also very loud, which can be a curse and a blessing depending on who is currently using it.
Verdict
Look no further than the iPad Air if you want the most bang for your buck. Although the cheaper iPad is still excellent, we believe the upgrade is worthwhile, especially since this is a tablet you’ll keep for many years. Other improvements besides the A14 processor include a less reflective display, a more difficult to lose Pencil accessory, and improved Wi-Fi. As a result, the iPad Pro’s premium price tag is incomprehensible.
