South Philly

One of the larger neighborhoods in Philadelpia, South Philly is bounded by the Delaware River and the Schuylkill River in the east and south, and the west, respectively. Although diverse, its roots are Italian, but is also home to a large Irish and African American community. Some of the landmarks include the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, the American Swedish Historical Museum, and the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Residents with families enjoy a number of schools to choose from, and transportation is readily available, with bike lanes also an option.
