Whitman
The South Philadelphia neighborhood of Whitman is one of the safest and most family-friendly neighborhoods in the city. Many of the residents are mainly single-family households, but has experienced an influx of young professionals and students. The public transportation is good, and the proximity to Oregon Avenue presents a lot of dining and shopping options, aside from Snyder Plaza. It is safe and affordable, with many amenities like parks and recreational areas, such as the Burke Playground, for baseball, swimming and other sports.
