The Catatumbo lightning is a massive formation of lightning over the mouth of the Catatumbo River in Venezuela. It happens 260 nights a year for over 10 hours per day at a staggering 280 times per hour. Now that’s some impressive light show.

Lake Natron could also be called “Lake Eerie,” because that’s what it actually is. Preserved bodies of animals are scattered around the area. The lake is deadly because of its high concentration of soda and salt, so that when animals crash into it, they dry and calcify quickly.
