Spotted Lake
The Spotted Lake is located just northwest of Osoyoos in the eastern Similkameen Valley of British Columbia, Canada. The lake is composed of a high concentration of minerals including calcium, sodium sulfates, and magnesium sulfate. It also contains eight other minerals with some amounts of titanium and silver. During the warm summer months, the like dries and the minerals harden, forming those strange-looking spots.
Sea of Stars
In recent years, the popularity of the Sea of Stars on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives has picked up, thanks largely to social media. This incredible spectacle is caused by the natural bioluminescence of the marine microbes called phytoplankton which give off that brilliant blue glow.
