Light Pillars

Light pillars are stunning phenomena which look eerily similar to light beams created by movie special effects. They are actually formed when light passes through tiny ice crystals suspended in the earth’s atmosphere.

Flammable Ice Bubbles

This natural formation is in Alberta’s Lake Abraham. The bubbles under the frozen lake are actually frozen pockets of highly flammable methane. You don’t want to bring fire anywhere near this lake.
