Ladislav Hojer was responsible for the murder of at least five women in Czechoslovakia and was known as “The Cowardly Cannibal.” He claimed his victims between 1978 and 1981 before he was caught and executed. He lost both parents to cancer at an early age, but despite having a below average IQ of 88, was able to enter the military, just like his brother. His victims were subjected to rape, necrophilia, as well as mutilation, as Hojer also engaged in cannibalism. He was able to evade capture and suspicion as other people either were accused or admitted to his crimes for various reasons. He was eventually caught when he was implicated by one of those who confessed to one of his murders. He also confessed to multiple rapes and attempted murder, and was executed at the Pankrác Prison in 1986.
