Known as “The Baton Rouge Serial Killer,” Derrick Todd Lee was convicted of raping and killing at least seven women between 1992 and 2003. Considered a hardworking family man with three kids, he had a devoted wife but still engaged in extramarital affairs. He had already been in trouble with the law for being a peeping Tom, and for stalking and burglary, but even with a reported low IQ of 65, he was able to elude the authorities for his murders as he killed in different cities, used different methods to kill his victims, which were both black and white, and he was not properly profiled as most serial killers were white, and he was black. He was only caught when a victim of one of his attacks survived and he was identified. He was sentenced to death but died due to heart disease at the Lane Regional Medical Center in 2016.
