Known as “The Glamour Girl Slayer” and “The Lonely Hearts Killer,” Harvey Glatman was responsible for the rape and murder of three women between 1957 and 1958 before getting caught while in the act of abducting his would-be fourth victim. Though he has an above average IQ of 130, he had a short attention span and at age 11, was found to have an affinity for autoerotic asphyxia, where he would tie a rope around his neck and then masturbate. He would eventually work as a photographer in Los Angeles, and would lure his victims, who were all aspiring models, to photoshoots under a false identity. He would then take them to the desert to be photographed and raped, before killing them. He was sentenced to death and executed in San Quentin State Prison’s gas chamber in 1959.
