Perhaps the most physically imposing serial killer of all time, Edmund Kemper stood 6’9” and weighed more than 250 lbs. He was seen to have violent tendencies at a young age, killing at least two pet cats, which led his parents to send him to his grandparents to live with. At age 15, an argument reportedly led him to gun down his grandmother, followed by his grandfather. While admitted to a mental institution, it was found out that he had an IQ of 145. He was released after six years, and in August of 1972 killed what would be the first two of his next eight victims, six of which were female student hitchhikers which he decapitated and dismembered, earning him the nickname, “The Co-Ed Butcher.” His last two victims were his mother and his mother’s friend, before he turned himself in and confessed to his crimes. He is presently locked up at the California Medical Facility.
