Ottis Toole was convicted of murdering six people, including 6-year-old Adam Walsh, the son of American TV host John Walsh. He was romantically involved with his partner in crime, Henry Lee Lucas, and like his partner, soon confessed to an astounding number of murders that gained them their notoriety. However, authorities balked at the idea that Toole, who had an IQ of 75, could have done all that they had confessed to, due to inconsistent details. Because of this, it was said that his confessions were just used to close unsolved cases. He was convicted of setting a fire that killed George Sonnenberg, whom he said was his lover, but was only arrested for an unrelated arson case. After having plead guilty, he was given multiple life sentences but died at the Florida State Prison in 1996 due to illness.
