Carroll Code went through so much abuse as a child that he was thought to have committed his first murder at the age of 10 when he drowned a friend, though it was believed to be an accident at the time. He had an IQ of 152 but didn’t fare well in school, where he was bullied for having a girl’s name. His victims were all women, with the exception of that one boy, and though he was eventually caught and executed for the murder of five, it was said that he killed much more until 1980. He was caught after attacking a couple in a car in 1960 and spent time in mental institutions. However, he was released after three years and that’s when the killing spree began. He was said to have targeted women he thought were like his mother, who he witnessed having adulterous relations when he was a child. He was executed by lethal injection in 1985.
