Ted Kaczynski, known as the “Unabomber,” was considered a true genius. With an IQ of 167, he was accepted at Harvard University at age 16, earned his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, and at 25, became the youngest-ever mathematics professor at the University of California Berkeley. He grew disenchanted with modern technology and became a recluse. Between 1978 and 1995, he terrorized the nation by mailing bombs, mostly to universities and airlines, which earned him the nickname. He was responsible for the deaths of 3 people, while injuring 23 others. He was captured when his manifesto was recognized by his brother, who tipped him to the FBI. He was arrested and given eight life sentences, and while serving time, has published two books and even became friends with Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and 1993 World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef.
