26. Erasmuskloof Sighting

One of the most bizarre UFO sightings was reported by police officers from Erasmuskloof, Pretoria in South Africa in July of 1996. Sergeant Becker of the Adriaan Vlok police station saw what appeared to be a glowing disc in the skies near the police station. He reported the incident but was initially laughed at until other reports came in, confirming his sighting. What happened next was unprecedented.

A radar operator at Johnnnesburg International Airport confirmed a presence, prompting a response from law enforcement officials. 200 policemen on the ground aided by a police helicopter gave chase to the object which they claimed to have pulsating lights contained in a red triangle that was also said to have emitted bright green tentacle-like extensions. The helicopter chase was ended near Bronkhorstpruit after the object lifted-off vertically from 10,000feet, making it impossible to follow.
